The COMIFAC president visits MINFOF

The current chairperson of the Central African Forests Commission (COMIFAC) Dr. Sanctus NIRAGIRA today Monday July 10, 2023, was today received in audience by the Minister of Forestry and Wildlife, Jules DORET NDONGO ahead of the Second International Conference of Ministers on Transboundary Transhumance here in Yaoundé. The president who doubles as the Minister of Environment, Agriculture and Livestock came to pay a courtesy visit to his predecessor of COMIFAC presidency.

Both ministers talked on a number of issues such as the sustainable management of forest reserves, the finalization of the process of revising the fundamental laws of the organization as well as the need to convene the third summit of Heads of State and Government of the COMIFAC member states.

After being at the helm of the Commission for more than three years, Minister Jules Doret Ndongo reiterated his unflinching support to the current Commission boss, thanks to his experience, so he can have a smooth mandate. He reminded Dr. Sanctus Niragira of availability and commitment in ensuring that his mandate is smooth.

After the audience, both ministers visited the construction site of the COMIFAC headquarters in the Etoudi neighbourhood here in Yaoundé. They were both elated with the work done so far on the seven-storey building site which is to be completed by the end of the year. The COMIFAC boss appreciated the quality of the work and said he will be happy to officially inaugurate the building upon completion.
