Audience granted to the ambassador representing the european union and the head of the environment and sustainable human resources management unit

The Minister of Forestry and Wildlife, Jules Doret NDONGO, received in audience on 13 March 2023, precisely at 9 a.m. in the conference room of the Ministry of Forestry and Wildlife, the Ambassador representing the European Union, His Excellency Philippe Van Damme. He was accompanied by Mrs. Chantal MARIJNISSEN, Head of the Environment and Sustainable Management of Natural Resources Unit, at the INTPA Directorate General.

In the course of this audience, several issues were discussed, notably those relating to the sustainable management of the APVFLEGT and SIGIF2. The Minister of Forestry and Wildlife, Jules Doret NDONGO, reiterated his commitment to fight for sustainable management and against forest exploitation, he however noted that MINFOF needs the support of its partners.

He also mentioned the implementation of a series of programmes that MINFOF is trying to put in place to get out of underdevelopment. The EU Ambassador, His Excellency Philippe Van Damme, assured the Minister of Forestry and Wildlife that they are ready to mobilise funds and invest for sustainable development and progress.

The INTPA Directorate General is responsible for formulating the European Union’s policy on international partnerships and development aid, the ultimate objective of which is to reduce poverty, ensure sustainable development and promote democracy, human rights and the rule of law in the world.
