INSTALLATION CEREMONY OF THE NEW HEAD OF THE NATIONAL BRIGADE OF FOREST CONTROL AND ANTI-POACHING OPERATIONS

On Tuesday, 7 November 2023, the Minister of Forestry and Wildlife installed the new Head of the National Brigade of Forest Control and Anti-Poaching Operations, in the Conference Room of Government Building No.2.

All the officials of the Ministry of Forestry and Wildlife attended the ceremony in a serene and friendly atmosphere. In his address, Minister Jules Doret NDONGO, introduced Mr. BIAKAY Norbert Forestry Engineer, who was formerly Divisional Delegate for the Sanaga Maritime, appointed by Order No.0090/MINFOF of 12 October 2023 to the position of Head of the National Brigade of Forest Control and Anti-Poaching Operations. The Minister of Forestry and Wildlife provided a detailed curriculum vitae of services already rendered by the fortunate appointee.

The Minister of Forestry and Wildlife began by mentioning that the hierarchy bestowed its total confidence in Mr. BIAKAY Norbert and continued by saying his appointment was part of a drive to give a new impetus to MINFOF's forest law enforcement sector. Finally, he briefly reminded the missions and challenges he would be facing in the days ahead, in accordance with provisions of Article 7 of Decree No.2005/099 of 6 April 2005 to organise the Ministry of Forestry and Wildlife which as: implementing government's strategy on forest control, supervising forest regulation enforcement; conducting all forms of investigation in the forestry and wildlife sector; collecting, processing and disseminating administrative sanctions relating to forestry and wildlife activities, just to name a few.

The Minister of Forestry and Wildlife reiterated the importance he attaches to the respect of values such as diligence, punctuality, promptness in processing files, honesty, dedication, free public service, moral probity, neatness, etc., and reassured that he will permanently be available to lend a listening hear to any difficulties that might hamper work in the ministry. To this end, he said: “Madame the Secretary of State and myself will always be ready to give you all the required assistance and support for the success of your mission, etc.” These were the last words the Minister of Forestry and Wildlife uttered before declaring Mr. BIAKAY Norbert officially installed in his new functions.
