Audience granted to the resident representative of the united nations development program

The Minister of Forestry and Wildlife, Mr Jules Doret NDONGO, has granted an audience to the Resident Representative of the United Nations Development Program, UNDP, Mr ALIOUM MAMADOU DIA, on May 31, 2023 at 10 a.m. in the conference hall of the Ministry. He was accompanied by a six-man powerful delegation of experts.

During the meeting, a number of issues were discussed, including sustainable management of the ecosystems and biodiversity as well as the UNDP-TRIDOM II project, which has been on a halt for some time now due to a number of procedural shortcomings.

Minister Jules Doret NDONGO reiterated his commitment towards sustainable management and the fight against illegal logging. However, he also pointed out that MINFOF needs the support of its partners in view of the promises made during COP 26 in Glasgow, Scotland which are still been awaited.

He also mentioned a series of programs that MINFOF is trying to implement to emerge from underdevelopment. The UNDP Cameroon boss assured the Minister that they are ready to mobilize funds to reduce poverty and ensure sustainable development.
