The Minister of Forestry and Wildlife, Mr. Jules Doret NDONGO, has granted an audience to Mrs. Euphrasie AKA, the Foundation's Africa Director. The purpose of the visit was to raise discussions on the conditions for opening the I.C.I Foundation's National Office in Cameroon, and to exchange views on the progress of measures taken by the Cameroonian authorities to implement programs aimed at eliminating the worst forms of child labour and forced labour in the cocoa production chain. To this end, the Foundation aims to catalyze the development of prevention and awareness-raising systems to reach all children and adults exposed to child or forced labour.

Taking advantage of this opportunity, Mrs. Euphrasie AKA presented the efforts and measures taken by the office to remedy the phenomenon of child labour in cocoa farming. She noted that the Foundation's dynamic approach had enabled significant progress to be made. Despite this progress, she acknowledged that much remains to be done to completely eradicate the phenomenon.

At the end of this exchange, the Foundation hoped to have a positive impact on the Cameroonian population, and subsequently receive support from MINFOF in implementing strategies against child labour on cocoa plantations.
