Awareness campaign against the illegal pangolin trade

An awareness campaign against the illegal pangolin trade was launched on Friday February 18, 2021 in Yaoundé. Joseph Lekealem, Director of Wildlife and Protected Areas presided over this ceremony on behalf of the Minister of Forests and Wildlife. This campaign, an initiative of the NGO WildAid, saw the active participation of the stars Stanley Enow and Rigobert Song, both emblematic figures of show business and soccer.

The public, mainly made up of journalists, was treated to the screening of films and commercials intended for broadcast in audiovisual and cybernetic media. WildAid is an environmental organization based in San Francisco, USA. Its mission is to help limit or even eradicate the illegal trade in endangered animal species through public awareness campaigns. WilAid relies on well-known personalities.
